The Darwinian Evolution of Windows [Infographic]

Given the fact that our first infographic - The Darwinian Evolution of Photoshop - was so successful we worked for two weeks for a shiny new piece. This time we're talking about the most popular OS in the history of mankind (still!). Microsoft Windows that is! Click here to get the full screen eye candy. Enjoy and if you like it please share the link with your friends!

I -really- dislike the monopoly microsoft seems to hold on much of the OS market. I guess the big reasons I hate it is because of how poorly the company operates and how insanely over priced their product is. Every single version released has been more and more aggressive towards making radical lay out changes. It took me some time to become completely natural and fluent in the layouts of XP, vista was a massive flop over that I still haven't perfectly mastered. I can't even touch windows 7 without being completely lost. I likely sound like a PC illiterate fool of some kind. I am actually very heavily involved in the PC industry, I do a lot of designing, repairing, and manufacturing of computers. I just hate how reliant so much of the industry is on this prison like broken piece of software. If only I could run everything I need on a linux distro.

This is a really cool way to show this progression. I like to see the evolution of different programs.
