Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP)

Cisco’s newest intermediate or professional-level certification, the CCIP falls into the Communications and Services track. It identifies individuals who are competent in implementing and deploying infrastructure or access solutions in end-to-end Cisco networking environments. CCIPs must understand IP routing and IP multicast, as well as one of a number of significant telecommunications technologies, including cable, DSL, content networking and more. This explains why the CCIP requirements include a common core component (where IP routing and multicast basics are covered) and an elective component, where CCIP candidates can choose a telecommunications technology on which to be tested.  A valid CCNA is required to become a CCIP.

The CCIP (Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional) provides individuals working in service provider organizations with competencies in infrastructure IP networking solutions. CCIP professionals have detailed understanding of networking technologies in the service provider arena including IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and MPLS.
