Exam 3X0-204: Sendmail Mail Systems 

If your company has Linux installed on their network, and they use Sendmail for their email communications, and you happen to know about Sendmail and how it works and functions, you would do well to get certified. This way you will be qualified to work on such a system. To get certified, you will have to pass the 3X0-204: Sendmail Mail Systems exam.

By taking and passing the 3X0-204 exam, you provide proof that as a Linux technician, or someone very knowledgeable in Linux, you can install and configure Linux mail system utilities, as well as maintain and deal with all security issues that surround the use of the mail system.

To pass this exam you will have to know the various mail systems including RFCs, BIND, Sendmail, Qmail, Smail, MTAs, MUAs, and MSAs. You will need to demonstrate you know about mail security, spam, mail queue management, POP, IMAP, disk management, administrative tools, and you will need to show how to perform troubleshooting on the system. Other topics you will need to know about will involve DNS, NAMED, physical security, network related security, and network design and infrastructure. You will need to explain about security testing and using utilities to do so, and you will have to know about Secure Protocol for Connecting.
