Exam 1z0-402: Enterprise Linux Fundamentals

Many corporations use Windows 2000 Server as their network operating system, but not all. There are those who use Unix. But there are those who use the subset of Unix - Linux. If you do use Linux, Oracle created a special Linux operating system that surpasses all the other versions of Linux. All Linux users will need to be certified in order to qualify as a Linux user. To be certified the user, or network administrator, whichever applies, would have to pass the 1z0-402: Enterprise Linux Fundamentals exam.

The test itself comprises of knowing the Linux operating system and language, as well as Unix. You will be responsible for knowing Linux well enough to perform certain tasks on the Linux system. You will also need to know Unix and where it came from, and how many distributions of Linux there are available. The test requires you to demonstrate the difference between what an administrative user and a normal user is when dealing with accounts and logins. You will have to know the Linux file system and answer questions pertaining to directories and what kind of files are in each directory, as well as how to create, delete, copy, move, and rename files and directories. You need to understand the shell interface and how to control it with scripts and other methods. You will need to demonstrate how to mount a file system, manage removable media, and install a printer. This test has about 87 questions and takes roughly 120 minutes to complete. You would need a score of 57% to pass and get your certification.
